Call to Order

Supervisor Ray Macke called the regular meeting of the Marissa Township Board to order at 7:00 p.m. on November 8, 2007 at the township building with the pledge of allegiance.

Minutes of Previous Meeting

Louis Dodson made a motion to accept the regular meeting minutes of October 11, 2007. Steve Laumbattus seconded the motion. A voice vote was taken: All ayes, no nays. Motion carried.

Payment of Bills

Bills were submitted for payment. Debbie Smith made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Louis Dodson seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Debbie Smith, yes; Louis Dodson, yes; Steve Laumbattus, yes; Ray Macke, yes; and Curt Werner, yes. Motion carried.

Correspondence

• No correspondence.

Cemetery Report

• Ray Macke reported that there were two (2) burials in October.
• The mowing is finished for the season.

Road Commissioner’s Report

• Steve Laumbattus reported for Tommy Neal.
• The work on Washington County and Lehr Road is on-going.
• The Randolph County Line Road grant project is nearly complete with just a few touch ups to finish.
• The last round of oiling will be this week.
• Signs are being repaired or replaced from wind damage.
• There is still no agreement between Marissa and Peabody but an agreement appears to be close.
• Tommy is working with TWM and Hanks Excavating on the sign placements at Lehr Road and Washington County Road.

Old Business

· The Education Conference will be held in Springfield in November. Ray, Louis, and Debbie are planning to attend.

· Marissa Township will host the Quarterly meeting on November 15 at 7pm at the Township Building.

New Business

• TOI Handbooks: The 2007 edition of the Illinois Laws and Duties Handbooks are available for $24 each. One will be ordered for each of the elected officials.
• Township Tax Levy: Louis Dodson made a motion to adopt the 2007 Township Tax Levy for $67,019. Steve Laumbattus seconded the motion. A signature vote was taken. All ayes, no nays. Motion carried.
• Road District Tax Levy: Steve Laumbattus made a motion to adopt the 2007 Road District Tax Levy for $133,883. Curt Werner seconded the motion. A signature vote was taken. All ayes, no nays. Motion carried.
• The safety dinner that is held with the Village of Marissa is scheduled for Saturday, December 1 at the Township building.

Curt Werner made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Louis Dodson seconded the motion. A voice vote was taken: All ayes, no nays. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
