Call to Order

Supervisor Ray Macke called the regular meeting of the Marissa Township Board to order at 7:00 p.m. on October 11, 2007 at the township building with the pledge of allegiance.

Minutes of Previous Meeting

Louis Dodson made a motion to accept the regular meeting minutes of September 13, 2007. Debbie Smith seconded the motion. A voice vote was taken: All ayes, no nays. Motion carried.

Payment of Bills

Bills were submitted for payment. Steve Laumbattus made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Louis Dodson seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Steve Laumbattus, yes; Louis Dodson, yes; Debbie Smith, yes; Ray Macke, yes; and Curt Werner, yes. Motion carried.

Public Comment

No public comment.

Correspondence

• Ray Macke read a thank you note from Dan Dodson for a meat tray given for Tammy Dodson’s funeral dinner.
• Ray Macke read a notice from TOI that HB1670 was signed on 8-17-07 and effective immediately regarding revisions to the Open Meetings Act.

Cemetery Report

• Ray Macke reported that there was one (1) burial in September.

Road Commissioner’s Report

• Steve Laumbattus reported for Tommy Neal that the employees have been busy with mowing and regular maintenance of equipment.

Old Business

· Ray Macke has reserved hotel rooms for the Education Conference on November 11 for all of those planning to attend.

New Business

• The soda machine was removed because of low sales. The trustees will consider purchasing a machine in the future if there is a need shown.
• Kent Vollert will be grant writing for the Marissa Library to purchase computers. Kent may contact the township at a future date if additional funding is needed.
• A donation to the Senior Citizen Center will be tabled until the November meeting.
• Adoption of a road district resolution will be tabled until the November meeting.

Steve Laumbattus made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Curt Werner seconded the motion. A voice vote was taken: All ayes, no nays. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
