Call to Order

Supervisor Ray Macke called the regular meeting of the Marissa Township Board to order at 7:00 p.m. on August 9, 2007 at the township building with the pledge of allegiance.

Minutes of Previous Meeting

Debbie Smith made a motion to accept the regular meeting minutes of July 12, 2007. Louis Dodson seconded the motion. A voice vote was taken: All ayes, no nays. Motion carried.

Payment of Bills

Bills were submitted for payment. Louis Dodson made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Steve Laumbattus seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Louis Dodson, yes; Steve Laumbattus, yes; Debbie Smith, yes; and Ray Macke, yes. Motion carried.

Public Comment

No public comment.

Correspondence

• Ray Macke reported that the St. Clair County Township Officials Assoc meeting will be held on Thursday, August 16, 7 p.m. at Engelman Township.
• Tommy Neal reported that he received an invitation for a ground breaking ceremony for Prairie State Energy Campus to be held on October 1, 2007 at 10 a.m.

Cemetery Report

• Ray Macke reported that there were two (2) burials in July.

Road Commissioner’s Report

• Tommy Neal reported that the employees have finished the second mowing and have been weed eating. He is also still involved in talks with the Peabody attorney on the road agreement.

Old Business

· Ray Macke has reserved hotel rooms for the Education Conference on November 11. Those planning to attend should let Evonne know at the regular September meeting so that registration can be submitted.

· Ray reported that the soda machine still needs to be moved to the kitchen.

· Ray reminded everyone to visit the Marissa Township website at marissatownship.com.

New Business

• The TOI trustee meeting is scheduled for September 8 at Fairview Heights, IL.
• Louis Dodson reported that the Marissa Senior Citizens Center will not be serving food as of October 1, 2007. He is on the committee to check into other options and will keep the board posted.

Louis Dodson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Steve Laumbattus seconded the motion. A voice vote was taken: All ayes, no nays. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
