Call to Order

Supervisor Ray Macke called the regular meeting of the Marissa Township Board to order at 7:00 p.m. on April 12, 2007 at the township building with the pledge of allegiance.

Minutes of Previous Meeting

Steve Laumbattus made a motion to accept the regular meeting minutes of March 8, 2007. Debbie Smith seconded the motion. A voice vote was taken: All ayes, no nays. Motion carried.

Payment of Bills

Bills were submitted for payment. Louis Dodson made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Steve Laumbattus seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Louis Dodson, yes; Steve Laumbattus, yes; Ray Macke, yes; Debbie Smith, yes; and Curt Werner, yes. Motion carried.

Public Comment

Correspondence

• Supervisor Ray Macke read a notice from Southwestern Illinois Planning Commission thanking Marissa Township for their support and annual dues.
• Supervisor Ray Macke read a notice about the St. Clair County Town Officials Association meeting that will be held on April 19 in St. Libory. Clerk Evonne Albert will send the RSVP to Susan Voss.

Cemetery Report

• Ray Macke reported that there were two (2) burials in March.
• Mowing has begun for the spring/summer season.

Road Commissioner’s Report

• Tommy Neal reported that he has been talking with Peabody about specifics for the new Lehr Road.
• Bid specs will go out to the public in mid-May for the Randolph County Line Road project.
• Tommy Neal will begin working on the 2008 grant application for phase II of the Randolph County Line Road project.
• Tommy Neal met with a FEMA representative about federal reimbursement for snow removal. The road district is eligible for approximately $1800.

Old Business

· Clerk Evonne Albert reported that five people were in attendance at the Annual Town Meeting held on April 10. The two items of discussion were the need to hire a part-time cemetery person for lawn maintenance and the need for cleaning and/or painting the entryway at the township building. After discussion, the board agreed to have the entryway cleaned and finished by Mike Tackett.

· Debbie Smith reported that a soda machine will be installed in the township building by the end of April or the first part of May.

· Supervisor Ray Macke reported that the new flags and poles have been installed at the township building.

New Business

• Contributions to Youth Organizations: 1) Louis Dodson made a motion to donate $100 to the Marissa After Prom Party. Curt Werner seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Louis Dodson, yes; Curt Werner, yes; Steve Laumbattus, yes; Ray Macke, yes; and Debbie Smith, yes. Motion carried. 2) Louis Dodson made a motion to donate $125 to the OKAW Valley Council Boy Scouts. Debbie Smith seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Louis Dodson, yes; Debbie Smith, yes; Steve Laumbattus, yes; Ray Macke, yes; and Curt Werner, yes. Motion carried.
• The trustees discussed the necessity to change the June meeting date. This will be voted on at the regular meeting in May.

Louis Dodson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Curt Werner seconded the motion. A voice vote was taken: All ayes, no nays. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
